Opus Energy's Commitment to the Future

At Opus Energy we are committed to reducing climate change. We will continue to buy a significant proportion of our electricity, wherever possible, from sources which have been accredited by Ofgem as low-carbon. 

Whilst we can’t guarantee that this power will be 100% renewable, it will always be from a source where the generator has demonstrated to Ofgem that it is producing cleaner or renewable electricity. To safeguard this, the generator is provided with a certificate by Ofgem, which is passed to Opus Energy and used to exempt the power supplied to our customers from the Climate Change Levy (CCL). 

We know no one's perfect…

By opting for cleaner energy, your business has already reduced its role in climate change. Sadly we know that not everything is as simple as switching your energy supply, some carbon emissions are just unavoidable and that’s why we encourage carbon offsetting.

Although carbon offsetting won’t reverse your emissions, helping to fund CO₂ saving projects will balance the impact of your actions. Follow the link to learn more about carbon offsetting.
