What We Are Doing at Opus Energy
At Opus Energy we think it’s important to practice what we preach, so we have introduced an ‘Eco-team’.
Our enthusiastic Eco-team’s role is to encourage employees to have a ‘eco-friendly' conscience by raising awareness and generating energy saving initiatives in the office and at home. These schemes may be specific to an individual department or across the whole of Opus Energy’s offices. The Eco-team have had a very positive impact on the way our offices are run.
Why not try implementing some of our most successful initiatives in your workplace:
- People are encouraged to turn off their computers and monitors each evening.
- Renewable light bulbs have been installed throughout our offices.
- Paper, cans, cardboard, glass and plastic all get recycled. And during the festive season we do Christmas cards too!
- Printer and mobile phone recycling stations have been set up in all our offices.
- Car sharing initiatives.
- Opus Energy endorse and encourage a cycle to work scheme.
- Read book libraries established in breakout areas.
- A ‘switch off lights’ campaign and monitors.
- Opus Energy’s new Oxford office was installed with new energy efficient white goods, air conditioning and heating equipment.
- We hold regular eco-days with eco inspired activities, quizzes and prizes up for grabs! Eco-day is all about continuing the awareness of our carbon footprint.
- Wear it green! On eco-days we encourage employees to dress in green or anything eco-inspired. The offices are decorated with green bio-degradable balloons too!
